Expand Your Campus Crew With Bumble For Friends

Class is back in session and campus is full of energy once again! Now that you’re settling in and getting to grips with your new schedule, it’s time to find friends who are going to shape your college experience. Luckily for you, Bumble For Friends, Bumble’s dedicated friendship-finding app, makes it easier than ever. Keep reading to learn how you can make the most of Bumble For Friends this semester to find your campus crew.

Build an authentic profile

The best place to start is by creating or updating your Bumble For Friends profile. Take a look and make sure it reflects who you are, what you’re into, and the kinds of experiences you want to have this semester. You can update your Bio, Photos, Badges, Profile Prompts, and more. Each of these Bumble For Friends features can be used to share details about your lifestyle. Recently changed majors? Rushed a sorority? Joined a new club? These are all great things to include in your profile to find like-minded pals. Of course, make sure to add an Education Badge to show where you go to school!

Verify your college

As well as the Education Badge, you can confirm that you’re a college student on Bumble For Friends for an added layer of verification. Certifying your student status on the app will add a personalized Sticker that represents your university directly to your profile, making it easy for fellow students to see that you’re on the same campus as they are. Keep an eye out for these Stickers on other people’s profiles while swiping through Bumble For Friends—you never know when your new study buddy might pop up!

To verify that you’re a college student, open Bumble For Friends and tap on the gray silhouette on the bottom left of your screen. Then, hit “Complete my profile” or “Edit profile.” Once there, scroll down and select “Education” where you’ll be prompted to confirm that you’re a student. Enter your school email address and then you’re all set! The Sticker will then be automatically added to your profile. Graduating soon? Don’t worry, you can remove the Sticker at any time!

Set Filters to find your people

We’re all on Bumble For Friends looking for different things, and narrowing down your search by applying a few Filters can help you find the connections that are right for you.

If you’re a freshman, you might be looking to navigate campus with other college newbies; or maybe you’re a grad student looking for folks who are having a similar experience. This is when the Age Range filter comes into play. If you’re an international student looking to connect with others from your home country, adding a Language Filter might help you find them.

Looking for something more specific? On Bumble For Friends you can access two Advanced Filters for free. With these you can filter for the kind of friends you’re looking for; whether they’re a local or new to the area; and many more. If you want to add more than two Advanced Filters, no sweat! Simply upgrade to our Premium subscription for access to the full range.

Make a plan with multiple friends

The new Bumble For Friends app has all the same features you know and love from Bumble’s BFF Mode—but we’ve added an exclusive group chat feature within the app. This makes it even easier to get two or more connections together for an IRL meetup, whether it’s coffee on the quad or a dorm decoration craft night.

To create a group chat, simply tap on the gray speech bubble at the bottom of your screen to head to your Chats. Once there, you’ll see a banner at the top of the screen inviting you to get a group together. Tap on the yellow “Start” button and you’ll be taken to a screen where you can select the activity you’d like to plan (Meet for coffee; Let’s grab a bite; Something outdoors; Live music or a show; Games night) or you can write your own. Once you’ve chosen your plan activity, you’ll be able to invite at least two of your connections.

Bumble For Friends is here to help you find like-minded pals on campus who could transform your college experience. So, what are you waiting for? This could be your most exciting semester yet!
